5th grade is putting the final touches on their Pace Car designs this week! I will be sending them off to Dover on Thursday. Dover International Speedway will be announcing the winner of the design challenge in April. Classes done with the pace car design challenge have started working on their African Culture project for Black History Month. I’m so excited to see how these turn out!
On Monday, the last two 3rd grade classes finished their dragon project. (Photos coming to Instagram and Twitter soon) Chinese New Year is Friday! Ask your 3rd grader what they learned about this 15 day celebration! The next project for 3rd grade teaches them how to draw a variety of lines and how to blend using paint. 4th grade has been learning about the difference between 2 dimensional and 3 dimensional works of art. They should be bringing their bird sculpture home within the next few weeks. Your 4th grader should be able to explain how they created a 3 dimensional sculpture from a 2 dimensional painting. They should also be able to talk to you about water color paint and display options for their bird sculpture.
